How to | Choosing a Security Screen Installer

The installation of your security door or window screen is just as important as the manufacturing of it. You need to know the installer you choose is up to the job. Here’s some tips for choosing a security screen installer:

Does the security screen installer have the appropriate licence?

Licencing is required for security screen installers in some states, including in Queensland where they require a QBCC, and in NSW, ACT and WA a Security Licence is required. We list our dealer’s licence numbers on their Get a Quote listing.

Do they install to the standard?

Must install to AS5039.2 the Australian Standard for Installation of Security Screen Doors and Window Grilles.

Do they use compliant product?

Must install product that has been tested and complies to AS5039.1, the Australian Standard for performance of Security Screen Doors and Security Window Grilles.

Other things you may like to check when choosing a security screen installer:

• Installation warranty – do they offer an installation warranty on top of the product warranty.
• Independent reviews – what do previous customers say about this installer on sites like Google and Facebook.
