Cleaning:
To start, take the time to gently remove any loose deposits from the frames and sashes with a soft, non-abrasive brush. It is important to choose a brush that has soft bristles, so you do not unintentionally scratch the surface. For the best of your security door screens and security window screens frame, gently use a sweeping motion across the surface of the frame, focusing on areas where dirt or other build-up might be present. This helps dislodge and lift particles, that could potentially cause abrasion.
Washing:
Next, using a soft, wet cloth and a mild cleaning solution or Prowler Proof’s Screen Care – 2 in 1 Wash & Wax kit, remove any remaining dirt, salt, and/or other deposits from the surface. Wet the cloth with lukewarm water, then apply a small amount of the cleaning solution on to the secure screen frames and sashes. Avoid using any harsh chemicals or abrasives cleaners, as these will damage the surface, for best results use Prowler Proof’s Screen Care – 2 in 1 Wash & Wax kit. Next, very gently wipe the entire frame with the cloth in a circular motion, focusing on spots or stains that remained on the frame from the previous cleaning. The mild cleaning solution will assist to weaken or break down grime and residues.
Rinsing:
After washing the dirty surface areas of the frames and sashes of the secure screens using your damp cloth, it will be similar to the cleaning process, to rinse any soap/detergent off the frame. Rinsing after washing is important to ensure that the cleaning solution is completely removed from the surface. Use clean, fresh water! You can either wipe it down with a clean cloth that has simply been dipped in water OR if this is possible, you can rinse the frame using fresh clean water under a gentle stream. It is crucial to thoroughly rinse any remaining water as remaining cleaning solution can lead to further residue and/or impact the framework. After rinsing the frame in fresh clean water, slowly dry off the frame with either a soft cleaning rag, or simply a dry cloth. This will ensure that there are no water spots left on the cleaned surface area of the frame and that the frame is clean and ready for use again.
