Supporting Veterans: Prowler Proof Partners with Bootstraps Charity in Gatton, Queensland

In Gatton, Queensland, former soldier Sam Kavanagh has established Bootstraps charity, a charity dedicated to helping veterans connect and find purpose. Sam founded Bootstraps as a way to provide veterans with meaningful activities and a supportive community. The charity’s core initiative is offering leatherwork classes to veterans and the wider community, creating an environment where veterans can meet others with similar experiences and backgrounds.

“It’s a place where they can drop in, have a coffee and a chat, helping in the fight against PTSD and other mental health issues,” Sam explained.

However, when constructing the charity’s building, Sam encountered a major obstacle. Without security screens, Bootstraps couldn’t secure insurance, halting construction progress. Recognising the importance of the charity’s mission, Sam reached out to Prowler Proof, a trusted manufacturer of security screens, seeking support.

These premium security products not only ensured the building was secure but also allowed Bootstraps to proceed with construction by meeting insurance requirements.

On 17th July 2019, Bootstraps celebrated its official opening, with several members of the Prowler Proof team, including Russell from Safehome, in attendance. The event marked a significant milestone for the charity, which continues to offer veterans a safe, welcoming space to heal and connect with others.

By providing top-quality security screens, they played a vital role in creating a safe space for veterans to come together, share experiences, and find hope.
