Prowler Proof ForceField security screens for fall prevention project at RNA banner

Brisbane RNA Showgrounds Project

As part of one of Australia’s largest urban renewal initiatives, the Brisbane’s Royal National Associations (RNA) Large Animal Pavilion has introduced a modern Large Animal Pavilion, replacing several outdated structures on the site. This redevelopment, part of a wider revitalisation project, has transformed the iconic Showgrounds with new retail, commercial, multi-residential, and multi-purpose convention, exhibition, and car-parking facilities. These enhancements breathe new life into the Brisbane RNA Showgrounds, which welcomes over one million visitors annually for exhibitions, music festivals, and sporting events.

Safety was a key priority for both the Royal National Association (RNA) and developers, particularly in the design of the staircase access to the new multi-storey pavilion. To meet fall prevention requirements, Prowler Proof ForceField® security windows were chosen to enclose the large voids at each staircase landing, offering a combination of safety and functionality. These security window solutions not only provide robust fall prevention but also ensure airflow and visibility, which is vital in a high-traffic location like the Brisbane RNA Showgrounds.

ForceField® security windows feature 0.8mm, 316 marine-grade stainless steel mesh that forms a strong barrier while maintaining clear views. With a 156-degree viewing angle and 42.5% open area for ventilation, these window security screens provide optimal airflow and visibility, making them ideal for use in this multi-storey development. The durable design meets strict fall prevention standards, ensuring the safety of visitors and peace of mind for the RNA.
